As the year closes in, what sticks out in your mind the most, both personally and world events?

Me? I lost my little puppy of 13 years, I lost my heart that day or a piece of it.

The world? Nothing shocks me anymore, yada yada.

Started the year by breaking up with my bf of eight years. Went through two more heartbreaks before finding my current loving partner. Relocated myself cross country. Started actively presenting myself as male and transgender. Made new friends, lost old ones. This was the year I completely rebuilt my life from the ground up.

Oh my God, I can’t picture this year coming to an end.
What sticks out in my mind is how I lost my girlfriend of two years.
Christmas alone…=/

The thought of going off to college next year. I wonder if I’m ready and mature enough for it. I ask myself if I can handle not being close to my family and closest friends. I’m ready for it but there’s still this little bit of doubt inside of me. On matters that deal with the world I’m only counting the seconds until Bush gives up his seat of power to our new President, Obama.

The thing that will probably stick in my mind the most, in terms of the world is..
We elected the first black president in history.
Outrageous gas prices.
We had the longest term of the worst president in history.
George Carlin died and so did Bernie Mac.
The bailout.
Personally…
I bought a car. (that’s currently broken down..grr)
I got back together with my g/f
I’m flying to San Francisco for the first time ever!
One step closer to getting that college degree (no more classwork after this semester, just practicum)
The GLBT protest we did on campus.
I lost 20 pounds.

me. i’ve had a pretty eventful year, but i’d say the biggest thing for me was finding so many friends who are so close i’d consider them family, and finding the one i love
the world. i keep feeling that though there were some negative results this year we’re getting closer to our goal of more tolerance, and i think our laws will reflect that soon

We have made history with the election, there was financial ruin due to government involvement. And the best part (to me) is George W Bush is OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE!
