world news

Just because you don’t keep up with the news, good or bad, doesn’t mean your co-worker, family member, neighbor, friend, and even stranger doesn’t also.

One day, you might find out they’ll either hug you or go postal on you.

Can local and world news do that to a person? What do you think??

Yes, I think that it can. If your watching the news about the war etc some people may become paranoid and worry all the time, etc.

I think just about anything have influence a person’s behavior

Yes, it can have an effect on a person depending on what the person believes. If you choose to believe everything you hear then it starts to mold you into different things. We are a product of our environment. Case in point, there was a shooting in my city and it was on the news about a 16 year old male how was shot to death, but when it was on the news and they were interviewing the mother it was nothing but her saying how great of a kid he was and how he thought of the future. It made it seem like a very sad story, but what they forgot to say was the boy had run ins with the police 45 times since he was 9, so knowing the whole truth is the best way to change you views but never believe everything you hear or read.

A rainy day can blow the lid of a psychopaths self control and start him on its way to mass murder. Anything, really, News definitely, depends how the person is wired.

    thats a no brainer
    of course it does
everything your brain takes in ie sensory input affects your behaviour
how else would marketing / advertising work
your brain does however become conditioned to accept things over time
ie when you first saw someone shot on the news you may have been apalled but as you see the same thing over and over you become blase about it

Yes the news does affect a person’s mood. I have my undergraduate degree in psychology. And all psych students at my university were required to conduct and analyze a major psychological experiment to graduate. I did mine over how television news can affect mood and anxiety. Anyway, after a ton of research and testing freshmen volunteers, my conclusion was yes, news does affect your mood. Good news makes you happy, bad news makes you sad, anxious, etc. But all my responses were pretty mild. Their emotions weren’t strong enough to impact another person. It all sounds pretty obvious now but at the time I thought it groundbreaking.
