World Events
olin h asked:

Meaning anyone stuck in microcosm can lose logic and the ability to see the whole. And if the population is stuck in a Microcosm it may give the powers the ability to sway the people into decisions that really don’t help us.

Possibly. Americans seem content to live in their own personal fantasy worlds rather than take an objective look at reality.

I think the news media gives out half-truths in order to control the political course of this nation. You can thank William Randolph Hearst for starting this trend.

Absolutely! I think the quality of our news has gone downhill since the passing of Peter Jennings and the wake of Ted Koppel and Tom Brokaw. I think Koppel made an excellent point when he criticized CNN for the fact that they only report what’s recent rather than what’s important. That is why I watch PBS News with Jim Lehrer or BBC News. Plus, I’m fed up with all the conservatives bashing them for being too liberal and God-hating. I had one nitwit tell me he thought FOX was the only neutral news and the rest of them had an ultra-liberal bias.

Totally. It amazes me what is left out of the general news in America - but then again, I am living internationally and watch international news - not local, American news. But, it does seem to be that there are definite issues/situations in international news that are purposely fogged over…

And, of course, one should consider being stuck in the Microcosm of their own worlds - of trying to pay the bills, get ahead at work, raise children, make decisions. If you make a couple of these things particularly hard for the masses, it suppresses their ability to focus on or really even care about anything going on outside of their homes and offices.

Interesting thought. You get a star!

Dude watch news cause you want to have a good time seeing what other people do lol. If you want to have a good time doing something go do it. I personaly will watch news cause its funny to think people are that dumb and I can learn from the mistakes they make. My goal isnt to live so much as to do smart stuff while having fun.
