The American media, which is run by giant corporations like Time-Warner, idiots like Rupert Murdoch, etc. no longer bothers to cover much of the news nationally or internationally.
So what makes you think the American media would take the time to censor what it doesn’t bother covering in the first place?

Only under circumstances affecting national security.
Of course, the definition of national security varies from person to person. (See the Nixon Administration.)
