Shadow Man asked:

How important is an American tragedy to the rest of the world? Is it just as important as tragedies in other countries?

It is the number one news story here in Australia. This tragic event hits home to all of us how vulnerable we truly are and of course we feel compassion and sorrow for the victims and their families. There but for the grace of God go we and our loved ones.

Earlier today I went to UK, Brazil, Australia and Italy Yahoo pages and their top stories were the shooting today. It seems that the rest of the world is just as saddened as we are.

I’ve seen it at the top of the page in most of europe. I’m sure the more adversarial countries put it up there too, if for no other reason than to point out how violent we are in the US.
We do have a peculiar thing going on here but I’d still prefer to be here over anywhere else in the world.

    well im from australia
and it has been head lining new
i woke up to it on the radio this morning
its such a shock her aswell simply becuase no person other then a policeman is allowed to use or have a gun in public,
if i was at school and i head a bang, the last thing on my mind would be to think of a gun, god forbid.
how many people need to get shot before the US changes the law?

well im from America. i feel for the families of the people that died. however, on a world scale i think it is getting a lot of coverage. it is definately getting more coverage then the Iraqi parliament bombing. But it is very tragic for anything to be on the News regarding death.
