    U.S. Navy Cruiser Inidanapolis delivers A-bomb to Tinian, a Pacific island. Sunk by Japanese submarine, great suffering for long time before missing cruiser noticed. Few survive, horrible story.

    Russians lost sub partly recovered by CIA Glomar Explorer ship.

    Astronauts land on Moon 1969.

    Astronauts burn up in oxygen filled capsule.

    Domestic: Watts Riots, Detroit Riots
