What type of career can I get from studying world events, specializing in the Middle East and Africa?

World Events
myself asked:

I have been, for the last 1-2 years been studying current events and some of the background information on world events especially in the Middle East and Northeastern Africa. I have attempted to keep track of everything reported out of this region of the world as well as all other parts of the world.

I just graduated high school but I know an enormous amount of information.

So, what type of career, after going to college, could I get with this type of knowledge?

Would I have to write books to make a living?

    Hi,

In my opinion, there are good online jobs available. Over the last 4 years I have been working online as a virtual customer service rep for a credit card company. It’s honestly a very easy job—I mainly answer e-mails, add features and address general inquiries.

If I can give one piece of advice though when looking for an online job—NEVER pay a start up fee to join a work at home company or directory. Very few legitimate companies will require you to pay them in order for them in turn to pay you. It defeats the point! Moreover, there are plenty of free sites available! :)
Depending on your skill set—there is a huge range in employment opportunities you might be interested in, both part time or full time—anywhere from data entry and transcription services—to virtual customer care—to writing articles/product reviews to webpage design.

For a list of very good companies and directories that I’ve been successful with and also a guide to avoiding online business scams see:

(The companies listed should not charge any start up fees nor hidden fees down the road)

I also make good extra money answering paid surveys. I’ll usually spend a couple of hours a day answering surveys and l make approx $50 a day = $1000-$1500 a month. For the most profitable free sites see:

Mining/oil companies need people to keep up to date with any opportunities there, avoid any places where they could be shot at, etc.
The CIA needs good men to keep track of potential threats coming from this region.

But the best thing is to travel there, learn the languages and get in contact with local people. By the time something is reported on the news, many people have already known about it.

you could get a career in government (diplomacy, foreign service, peace corps, and international relations)
Companies also look for international relations specialists. Non profit.
Since youre going into trouble spots, the U.N. and relief and aid organizations would also be interested in your resume.
