    2. Franco-Prussian War
    3. Invention of barbed wire
    4. Pan-Slavic sentiment
    5. Disputes over real estate, i.e. Alsace-Lorraine
    6. European nationalism
    7. Assassination of Archduke Ferdinand

    Check dates with Wikipedia, but that’s a start.

    June 28, 1914- Assassination of Archduke Franz Fernidad
    I don’t have dates but:
    Imperialism of France, Britian and Germany. They all wanted more colonies than the others.
    Nativism- everybody thought they were better than everyone else
    Fear- Most of Europe was afraid of the power that Germany was obtaining.
    Most countries in Europe were taking alliances.
    Amrs race- 1906 Britain and Germany both wanted to have the largest, best naval arms.
    American involvement was fuled by the Zimmermann Note- Jan. 16, 1917
